Can someone explain the Kalfkaesque economics of a magazine that keeps coming even if you never pay for it? I’m being buried under issues but how do I unsubscribe to something I never subscribed to? God help me this is a nightmare

Also can’t neglect to mention who honestly doesn’t get enough credit for a man who has literally spent the past 20 years illustrating some of the greatest superhero stories of all time. Somebody needs to talk to somebody about a Comics Hall of Fame.

Just wanted to say hat’s off to my buddy for Flash 50. The Flash has become like Marvel’s Daredevil: a B-tier character that consistently produces legendary, career-defining runs for writers elevating him to A. Josh is in the thick of that right now. Awesome.

FIRST BLOOD is an absolute masterpiece of style ownage. Shitkicker cops bust Rambo on a vagrancy beef, and when they try to give him a hot lather shave he goes berserk and utterly destroys their pissant town. I respect JOHN WICK but seriously guys.

Sometimes I remember about how long I spent thinking it was delightful and convenient that an ATM makes me pay for my own money and I wonder about all the other things the assholes have done that I haven’t even figured out yet.

Anybody I catch attempting to cynically up their social media profile by live tweeting me having a sincere or unguarded (or any) human moment will quickly find themselves live tweeting their own murder.

I was never a great lover of Harlan Ellison, but you can’t deny the dude had a badass name for a SF author. Also he was a pugnacious lunatic ready to burn down the building for any perceived slight or injustice. Exhausting sure but jeez what a life. I doubt we’ll see it’s equal.

The incredible news of Lucifer being saved from cancelation by Netflix is overshadowed by even MORE incredible news — BLU RAY ANDREI RUBLEV FROM CRITERION. Truly, never thought I’d get to see this day

2/2 Out of all the documentaries, Vice specials, ruin-porn retrospectives, Bourdain came in and immediately saw it with the same eyes I did growing up there, and got nuances no one else got. It’s been wonderful finding out he seemed to do that everywhere he went. What a gift.

1/2 The sheer scale of the outpouring of grief for Anthony Bourdain surprised me, though it probably shouldn’t. Parts Unknown: Detroit was, to me (a Detroiter) the most accurate and elegant portrait of my city I’d ever seen. Literally ever. Watching it, I was astounded.

Multiple tragedies have kept suicide in the public conversation long enough to produce scolding backlash posts against previous suicide hotline posts. Social media’s Airborn Toxic Event Ecosystem never fails to deliver.
